On Thursday afternoon, scaffolding collapsed on a seven-story building at a construction site in Ramat Gan, trapping six laborers beneath it.

Two laborers were extricated from underneath the scaffolding and found to be lifeless. A 30-year-old laborer suffered serious head injuries, two other laborers suffered moderate wounds to the head, and one other was lightly wounded. A seventh person was also reported wounded.

"When we reached the location, we saw a scene of destruction and collapsed scaffolding," related MDA paramedic Uday Basul and responder Yishai Tzitron. "Two construction workers were walking around dazed and wounded, one in moderate condition and the other lightly injured. We immediately treated them and evacuated them to hospital.

"We then scanned the site and located a further four construction workers trapped beneath the scaffolding. Efforts to extricate those still alive are ongoing."
